Lynne's Story of Possibility

Lynne’s story is one of resilience and transformation.
Her journey began in an environment steeped in addiction. Growing up, Lynne was surrounded by close relatives who were abusing substances and drinking. It was all around her. Life got hard and Lynne faced significant obstacles, including feelings of anxiety and depression. These feelings often seemed insurmountable. At the time, it seemed natural to choose what she had seen as the solution.

But Lynne was determined to find a way out, to carve a new path for herself.
Her journey to a long-term recovery program was driven by necessity—her brother had heard about it, and with no safe place to return to, it seemed like the only option for growth.

Encouraged by stories from other women who had found success and support here, Lynne decided to join Unshattered after she completed her recovery program.
“What I heard from other ladies that were already here was that it was a fostering environment for working and for the belief system that I had already established,” she recalls. Unshattered provided Lynne with more than just a place to recover; it offered her a renewed sense of purpose. “To get back into the workforce and have some purpose in daily living,” Lynne explains when asked how Unshattered has helped her on her journey. The support and encouragement she received from the Unshattered team were instrumental in helping her rebuild her life.

The hardest part of Lynne’s journey was overcoming the deep-seated anxiety and depression that had plagued her for so long.
But with the help of the supportive network here at Unshattered and the encouragement she received from her peers and growth coach, she began to see progress. “The network of people that I’m around, here and at home,” Lynne says, played a crucial role in helping her through the tougher days.

Today, Lynne is most proud of how far she has come.
“Making it this far in a totally new environment is one of the things I’m most proud of.” she reflects, recognizing the strength it took to push through difficult times and start rebuilding her life. One of the biggest lessons she has learned about herself is her ability to persevere. “I can push through a lot of difficult times,” she says with pride.

Lynne’s aspirations for the future are simple yet profound.
She dreams of living independently again, of having her own place and a car, and of possessing the everyday things needed to get by in the world. At Unshattered, Lynne found a community of like-minded women. This environment has taught her the value of teamwork and the importance of uplifting one another. “Everybody works together very well. There is a lot of encouragement and support,” she notes. Lynne has been an invaluable asset to our team, particularly in her role as a skilled kitter. Her attention to detail and straightforward approach ensures that each project is executed with precision. Working closely with our lead designer, Lynne consistently delivers high-quality work. Her dedication inspires a standard of excellence that resonates throughout the organization.
