Orders & Shipping

We do not currently ship outside of the United States.

We currently ship in the USA only. Orders ship from our Unshattered Boutique in Wappinger Falls, NY as soon as possible - typically no longer than 3 business days from when the order is processed. We do not ship on the weekends.

During high volume periods, the processing time may increase.

Shipping times depend on your location. We cannot guarantee delivery times due to carrier delays, inclement weather, unexpected order volume increases, and other factors outside of our control. Unshattered Inc. is not responsible if a package gets delayed or lost due to a shipping carrier error.

Custom orders typically take 2-3 weeks to create and deliver because they are handcrafted and made to order. Wait times may be longer during the holiday season.

We know how stressful that can feel.

Carriers sometimes tuck packages in safe places, so be sure to check your porch, garage, mailbox, exterior doors, or with anyone in your household who may have recieved it on your behalf.

If you still can’t find it, email us at info@unshattered.org, we’ll help you connect with the carrier for next steps.

Returns / Exchanges

Products may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of purchase with a receipt. Make an exchange request to us at info@unshattered.org within 48 hours of purchasing your bag (or, for online orders, within 48 hours of receiving your bag). Customers are liable for shipping costs both ways on exchange or return unless the return is due to a workmanship issue.

Sale, custom, or made to order items may not be exchanged or returned. All sales are final for these items.

No exchanges or returns after 30 days.

Unshattered does not design or manufacture bags or products intended for carrying, holding, storing, or transporting weapons of any kind. We make no claims of safety or protection regarding the use of our products for such purposes. We are a nonprofit social enterprise focused on creating handcrafted, upcycled bags and accessories that carry meaning, sustainability, and hope.

Through our custom design process, we are happy to build to your requested size specifications and incorporate features like square or rectangular pockets. However, how you choose to use your bag is at your discretion. Any contents stored in a bag purchased from Unshattered, whether from our boutique, website, or custom design process, are solely the responsibility of the customer. We do not accept liability for how our bags are used or for the consequences of carrying specific items in them.

As an organization that employs women who are courageously rebuilding their lives in recovery, many of whom carry deep histories of trauma that may include exposure to violence, we are committed to fostering an environment of healing, safety, and hope. For this reason, requests involving weapons are incompatible with the heart of our mission and the well-being of the women on our team.

We appreciate your understanding and support.

Our Mission

100% of your purchase goes directly to our mission of ending the addiction relapse cycle.

Our bags are crafted in a studio located in NY’s Hudson Valley from 100% upcycled materials by skilled artisans.

While our materials are 100% upcycled, which in turn makes a positive environmental impact, a few opportunities remain for us to improve our overall sustainability, in particular the sourcing of our hardware. We work with industry partners to continuously improve our sustainability and environmental impact.

From a social impact perspective, we estimate that each woman we employ has a positive economic impact on their community of approximately $150,000 per year. The women on our team become designers, seamstresses, and project managers. They experience success, promotion and gain the skills and income to live independently.

Our entire mission is about improving the holistic wellbeing of our artisans including their financial health. We continue to look for ways to elevate our impact by increasing our artisans income and benefits every year as well.

Unshattered serves women from disadvantaged backgrounds. Addiction goes hand in hand with poverty, incarceration, abuse, and trafficking. We recognize that marginalized communities often face the compounding impact of these trauma-inducing experiences that cause them to fall further into disadvantage.

It is our commitment to support and advocate for those disempowered by society. The journey to success is harder for some than others, particularly for communities of color who have often suffered injustices and been denied crucial resources and power. Regardless of race, education, experience, identity, or anything else that may have created barriers, we pursue unity, providing equitable opportunities for women to thrive.

Unshattered is a healing-centered community that exists to support women as they continue their journey of sobriety. Like most addiction recovery programs, we believe there is a spiritual component to healing.

Research consistently shows that a holistic approach that supports the physical, emotional, financial, and spiritual health of an individual is a core factor for women to maintain their recovery. As an organization, we choose to participate in and demonstrate the values and spiritual practices of the contemplative Christian faith to assist team members in moving toward healing and community.

We are a place where people, particularly women, are safe enough to get quiet, listen, and allow God to work within and among us. We focus on practices and pauses that allow us to witness the holiness and sanctity of ourselves, others, and our work.

Our desire is to be "Some kind of thin place where God's dream for humanity breaks into reality like a green shoot reaching up through a crack in the concrete." (Aaron Niequist)

Our program is currently just for women.

Here are some resources to organizations that offer a similar program for men. We have not personally worked with them so please be aware of that as you reach out to them.

  • Cornbread Hustle is a staffing agency for second chances, they provide meaningful employment to people with criminal records and in recovery. They have background-friendly jobs in Texas, South Dakota, North Carolina, and South Carolina. http://cornbreadhustle.com/jobs
  • Manufacture Good is an organization that offers 6-month cohorts 4 times per year for young men stuck in a rut. They are located in the heart of Downtown Birmingham, AL.https://manufacturegood.org/
